Sasha has a home!

An update from her new owners...

Sasha is wonderful! I believe she thinks we are too! :-)
She is great with the cats and they are great with her too - they even licked a tiny bit of ice cream out of the same bowl together! :-) So very cute!! They all walk around and sniff each other and then settle down to take a nap. They are acting like they have been best friends all their lives!
Every morning now, Sasha lays next to me and we pet and pet and pet; and she rolls over and gets her tummy rubbed - she loves that! We go for long walks around the property - she is good on a leash - and I used a tieout yesterday when I was working on the pool - she was great! Once I needed to go into the garage to get a scissors, she fussed a bit, but I told her I'll be right back and then she was fine. Bar walks her in the afternoon before he goes to work and at night when he gets home - those two have really bonded too! :-)
It is obvious she is very intelligent because she already understands Bar and my crazy routine and it has only been a couple of days! She is also starting to understand the hand signals I use (come, stay, sit, down). I found hand signals a real lifesaver because Angel, my black Lab, was totally deaf perhaps a year or more before she died.
I am extremely grateful to you and your organization for giving Sasha a chance to hang out for a while until her new family could be found. Thank you so very much from all of us!!! :-)

Sasha belongs to a young Pennsylvania National Guard Captain preparing for a second deployment to OIF.  She was his mom's dog and came to the Captain following his mother's recent passing.  Even though he is concentrating on preparing for deployment he did not want to abandon Sasha and asked if we could provide her with a safe haven.  She will stay with us so the Captain knows she in a good place.  However, she is adoptable and would make a great companion for someone who would consider taking her into a good home.
